Race-based politics has become utterly detested. Why? Because we are fed up. Racism is so yesterday and some ministers and assemblyman who are still racist must either be so close minded or still living under a rock.
Yes, racism will be BN’s downfall. Race based politics promotes racism.
Lets look at this example on how they respond to the threat of Pakatan Rakyat.
BN tells the Malay community that PAS’ religious based politics are in jeopardy because they are working hand in hand with the Chinese in DAP.
BN also tells the Chinese community that they will be marginalized further because PAS will introduce Hudud law that will stifle the freedom of other races.
Ask a Chinese in Kelantan and you will know that it couldn’t be further from the truth. Chinese in Kelantan
That are the deadly tactics of a coalition that only knows how to use the race card to their advantage.
Well this time around they will realize that their advantage no longer exists.
Why are Malaysians tired of race based politics, you ask?
Well because we have matured.
We have opened our eyes. We have seen the way minorities in other countries are treated (you can thank AirAsia for that), we have witnessed President Barack Obama defy racial boundaries, we have always cheered for the underdog and even Nelson Mandela who served 27 years in prison and later became the first black South African president.
We have been subjected to these underdog tales and we have basked in its unlikely triumphs.
So why not our own?
PKR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was sentenced to six years in prison for corruption, and another nine years for sodomy.
DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang was arrested under the Internal Security Act (ISA) several times but most famously for “Operation Lalang” in 1987. He spent 17 months in prison under the ISA, detained without trial.
So are we gonna ensure the same fate that followed Mandela follows Anwar?
Or do we reelect proven racists and sexists?
Indian or Snake?
Perkasa and snakes
Hindus and Ganges river
Blame women’s clothing for rape?
Maybe Malaysians will give change a real chance this time.
Race based politics are as draconian as the ISA was and has to end.
Say no to racism and no to race based politics.
Let our children grow up in a world where it doesn’t matter what race you are.
We are just simply Malaysian.
